- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F, line muffin tins
- Whisk cake flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt together
- In a separate bowl whisk together buttermilk, Kahlua, vanilla, vinegar, and food coloring
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar for 2 minutes or until fluffy, add eggs one at a time, beating well between each
- Alternate adding flour mixture and buttermilk mixture to the sugar/ eggs, beginning and ending with the flour
- Fill each muffin well ½ way with the batter, then put one sliced (or crushed) York patty into the batter, and top with more batter until the well is ¾ full.
- Bake for approx. 17 minutes
- Beat butter until fluffy, add 3 cups powdered sugar, beat until combined
- Add milk, and Kahlua, beat until combined
- Add remaining powdered sugar & crushed York patties, beat until combined
