Conversation Heart “Petit Fours”– makes ??
White Chocolate Pound Cake
6 oz white chocolate, chopped
1 box Funfetti (or white, no pudding) cake mix
1 stick unsalted butter, melted
1 cup whole milk
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F, grease & flour (or line with parchment paper) a jelly roll pan
  2. Melt the white chocolate
  3. Combine all ingredients, beat on low for 1 minute
  4. Beat on medium for 2 more minutes, pour evenly into jelly roll pan
  5. Bake cake until it’s light brown, springs back when touched, and toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.
  6. Cool completely in pan, cover, then chill in the fridge over night before cutting into heart shapes with a cookie cutter
  7. Put them back in the fridge while you make the icing
2/3 cup corn syrup
2/3 cup HOT water
7 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
+/- gel food colors
Half a bag of Red Candy Melts
  1. Whisk corn syrup and water together until dissolved
  2. Whisk in powdered sugar, stir in extract
  3. Divide and add color
  4. Pour over cold hearts, let set for a few minutes… pour another layer if necessary, let set to harden slightly
  5. Melt the red candy melts
  6. Using a writing tip (I think I used a #4), write your favorite Conversation Heart sayings on the hearts.
  7. Let the chocolate and icing set/ harden before handling
