Slow Cooker BBQ Beef Brisket

adapted from Better Homes & Gardens New Cookbook
 
¾ cup water
½ cup ketchup
¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon white vinegar
½ teaspoon dry mustard
½ teaspoon chili powder
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon minced garlic
2 lbs beef brisket
2 tablespoons corn starch
1. Combined first 9 ingredients in a slow cooker, then add trimmed beef brisket
2. Cook on high for 5-6 hours, or low for 10-12 hours
3. When brisket is tender and cooked, set aside and cover w/ foil to rest
4. Pour the juice/ sauce into a sauce pot, bring to a boil, whisk in corn starch a little at a time until sauce is thickened
