Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies

makes 3 dozen chewy cookies…
 
1 & 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup baking cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup light brown sugar
2 tablespoons corn syrup
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/4 cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
2 tablespoons water
+/- 1 & 1/2 cups chocolate or peanut butter candies (M&Ms, mini peanut butter cups, Reese’s Pieces etc…)
  1. preheat over to 375. line baking sheets with parchment paper
  2. whisk flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt together
  3. beat sugar, butter, and peanut butter together until fluffy, approx 3 minutes
  4. beat in vanilla, egg, water, and corn syrup, until just incorporated
  5. stir dry mixture into wet mixture
  6. stir in candies
  7. scoop by tablespoons onto cookie sheets, flatten slightly
  8. bake for approx 6 minutes, flatten with tines of a fork, bake for 1-3 more minutes
  9. cool on wire racks
they’ll look a bit underdone… but they’re not!
