Sugar Cookies II with Boozy Icing

Sugar Cookies from Brown Eyed Baker
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
4 sticks butter, softened
2 cups granulated sugar
2 tablespoons light brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla
  1. whisk flour baking powder and salt together
  2. in a LARGE bowl cream butter and sugars together until fluffy (about 3 minutes)
  3. add eggs and vanilla, beat until well combined
  4. gradually add flour mixture, beat on low speed until combined
  5. refrigerate overnight (or for at least 1 hour)
  6. preheat oven to 375 degrees F, and line baking sheets with parchment paper
  7. in small sections roll out dough (leave the rest in the fridge) and cut into desired shapes
  8. bake for about 7 minutes, until edges are lightly browned
  9. cool completely on wire racks before icing
Boozy Icing
2 cups powdered sugar
2 teaspoons Half N Half (or whole milk)
4 teaspoons liquor (Jager, Kahlua, Amaretto, Bailey’s, etc.)
4 teaspoons corn syrup
gel food color
  1. stir Half N Half and liquor into powdered sugar until combined
  2. beat in corn syrup until smooth and glossy
  3. beat in gel food color
